In this 3 hour prenatal yoga workshop we will take a glimpse into what you need to know to safely accommodate a pregnant woman in your yoga class.
We will cover:
* A brief look at anatomical changes of the preganant body.
*Poses to avoid and poses to modify.
*Movements and exercises that can help strengthen and ease tension in a pregnant body. 
*Techniques that can help a woman stay connected to her diaphragm, abdominals and pelvic floor muscles. 
*Understanding the importance of restoration and relaxation. 


Guest Teacher: Manorama

This Sanskrit Studies Method course is an introduction to the Sanskrit language and the culture of the modern yogi. We will look at select sounds of the Sanskrit alphabet, two commonly chanted mantras in yoga classes around the globe. We’ll practice pronouncing select asana names. You’ll also be introduced to Luminous Soul Meditation and select principles for authentic yogic living. 

  • How to pronounce select alphabet sounds and words in Sanskrit. Proper pronunciation gives you the confidence to chant mantras and speak asana names with ease
  • Why Sanskrit mantras are healing for the listener
  • Immerse in the Luminous Soul Meditation practice, which teaches you how to soothe the mind and return it to a natural energized peaceful state, no matter the challenge
  • Develop insight into why Sanskrit is called the language of vibration and why that’s important
  • Understanding breath and its place in your yogic practice and in the Sanskrit language
  • Get practice reading the Sanskrit letters in their original form called Devanagari, as well as, in the transliteration script




Hedy Alicia Iankelevich

Yoga Teacher, Franklin Method Educator, Anatomy Enthusiast, Embodied Mover and brand new mama. Hedy has been a student of Yoga since 2003 and teaching since 2010.  She has studied in the fields of Movement, Yoga, Anatomy, Thai Yoga, Prenatal Yoga, Somatics, Biomechanics and Breath-Work with expert teachers such as Eric Franklin, Paula Tursi, T’ai Jamar Hanna, Jason Brown, Deb Flashenberg, Sam Chase and Leslie Kaminoff.
Her passion is in bringing body-mind awareness into the lives of others. She specializes in working with people new to Yoga, ‘Golden Agers’, and people seeking an intelligent movement practice.  Hedy is a certified Prenatal Yoga teacher through the Prenatal Yoga Center and loves working with pregnant women through all stages of their beautiful journey. 
During her pregnancy she dove deep into prenatal yoga, movement and anatomy as well as childbirth education. Hedy is now ready to share what she had learned with the world.
Hedy guides weekly group classes, workshops, private sessions, corporate classes and leads domestic and international retreats.
