“It is better to live your own destiny imperfectly than to live an imitation of somebody else’s life with perfection.”
– The Bhagavad Gita

astrologer-12-signsEach one of us is unique in our own way.  The same way that no two snowflakes are the same, each human has their own perfect distinction.  The internet and newstands are filled with stories and articles about how to “get” a better butt, longer hair, or the body part of a celebrity.  Yet the other day it dawned on me that a person can never get the same exact butt as Beyonce or the same body as Heidi Klum.  We all have our own beautiful butts and bodies!  There is no need to try to imitate another or try to make ourselves something that is not ourselves.

We are all here on purpose and with a purpose.  That purpose is perfect.  Your body is perfect.  Your ambition is perfect..  Your home is perfect.  You being your true self is the most perfect thing in the Universe.

January 1 starts with a Capricorn New Moon!  New Moon on New Year’s Day.  It is quite auspicious and a gift to start the new year off in this way.  Capricorn is the sign of determination, authority, responsibility, and career.  Capricorn is represented by the sea goat.  The sea goat has the upper body of a goat and lower body of a fish.  Capricorn reminds us our uniqueness and our duality – the water like nature of us, our soul and the earthy and more practical part of our self.  Within us there is both a need to be practical and a need express from a place that is deeper within us.  When we allow this to be in balance within ourself, we have the potential to live in our truest light.

Here’s to a year of balance, truth and of letting ourselves be free!

New Moon Horoscopes (Read BOTH for Sun and Rising Signs)

Capricorn:  The first day of the New Year is truly your day with the Capricorn New Moon energy filling up the day.  This is IT!  There is no time to delay, start living your life now.  Whatever that means for you, just start honoring what you want and focusing on what YOU feel, and not pleasing others.
Aquarius:  Our dreams are our unconscious working to get our conscious mind’s attention.  Dreams can have messages that can be clear or just ideas for you to ponder.  Pay attention to your dreams, and interpret for yourself.  Start giving your unconscious more attention.
Pisces:  New Moon and new causes for livelihood.  This is the season of giving yourself and service.  Service, not only to yourself, but to others.  Yes, you deserve service, but give service to others and to the World in general.  It will come back to you.
Aries:  Work is different than your career.  Your work is what you may get paid for, your career is what your soul craves.  Working can be exhausting, but career is invigorating.  We need both in our life, even if that means that they aren’t the same thing.  What is your career?  It is not enough for you to only work.
Taurus:  You got international destinations on your mind!  This New Moon is about you dreaming far and wide, about you growing beyond your normal daily routine.  You got places to go and things to do this year, trust that!
Gemini:  The softer side of us is invited in with the New Moon.  While on a daily basis, we may need to be logical and even sometimes tough, we need to shed that toughness sometimes and make time for quiet and to connect to our stillness.  Listen to your stillness.  Listen to your softness.
Cancer:  This New Moon is in your house of romantic relationships.  It is time for new beginnings in your relationship or approach to relationships.  New beginnings doesn’t necessarily mean new person, it can mean new ways of seeing the person you are with and new commitments to one another.  Relationships are only a reflection of the relationship with yourself, so perhaps commit to a new way and approach toward yourself.
Leo:  What do you truly want?  It is time to get practical about it.  While nights of dancing and networking over cocktails is a way toward making your dreams happen, another aspect is just work.  Sit down, turn off phone and get to work!
Virgo:  Your creativity needs some expression.  How are you finding ways to be creative in your everyday life?  Each action is an expression of creativity – what we cook, how we pack our lunch, how we style ourselves, how we interact with people.  Don’t forget you are a living masterpiece.
Libra:  Home is beckoning you.  This new moon is an invitation to start slowing down and putting effort into your home and spending time at home, enjoying quality family time with those you care about and enjoy the love that comes with it.
Scorpio:  Communicate from your soul.  Your logic is limited in communication.  Your soul is not.  Write, speak, listen all with your heart and soul, not just with others but with yourself.
Sagittarius:  This new moon lights up your ability to earn money and income, most likely while doing something that is important to you.  Don’t forget that your value is beyond money and material items.  Your value is your connection to yourself.
